Our History
L. G. Ellis Plumbing, Inc. was founded by Larry Ellis in the fall of 1977 in the same building where his uncle had operated a plumbing shop for several years. Located at 2405 K Street in Midtown Sacramento, the original 2,400-square-foot building included two ground-floor offices and a modest 400-square-foot yard.
Over the next fourteen years, L. G. Ellis Plumbing, Inc. expanded both physically and operationally. The building was remodeled to include seven office spaces, and the yard grew to 6,900 square feet. During this period, the company grew from a single employee to fifteen, and annual sales increased from $100,000 to $2.2 million.
Recognizing the need for more space, Larry Ellis built a new 14,000-square-foot steel building at 8608 Fruitridge Road in Southeast Sacramento. This new facility included 2,000 square feet of office space and approximately 12,000 square feet of yard space. L. G. Ellis Plumbing, Inc. moved into the new building in 1991, initially occupying half of the building and the entire yard. Continued growth allowed the company to occupy the entire building by 1999.
By 2007, L. G. Ellis Plumbing, Inc. had grown to 26 employees and achieved average annual sales of $6 million. During this time, a 4,600-square-foot concrete block building was added to house the company’s equipment and maintenance shop. Today, we continue to maintain a fully staffed, state-of-the-art shop to handle the full spectrum of commercial plumbing needs with expertise and precision.
